Hi, my name is Ioana. BDays isn't made by a company. It's made by me, a developer who kept forgetting birthdays and decided to fix it for good. Every screen, every reminder and every card in the app is something I use myself.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is BDays free?

    Yes, and so is everything in it. No feature is held back for a paid tier, and importing your contacts, exporting your list and backing it up all cost nothing. Ads pay for the app, and a one-off Premium purchase turns them off. Turning off ads is the only thing Premium does.

  • Does BDays need an account?

    No account, no sign-up. Your birthdays live on your phone, and backups go to your own Google Drive if you turn them on. See the privacy policy for the details.

  • Can BDays import birthdays from my contacts?

    Yes. Import from your device Contacts in one tap, or bring a whole list in from a CSV file. There is a step-by-step tutorial for making one right inside the app.

  • Can I back up my birthdays?

    Yes. ‘Backup and Restore’ saves your whole list to your own Google Drive, or to a file you keep on your phone. Restoring it on a new phone is one tap.

  • Is there a calendar view?

    Yes. The Calendar shows the month with a colored dot on every day that has a birthday, and tapping a day lists the people on it.

  • Can I sort people into groups?

    Yes. Every person gets a tag (Family, Relatives, Friends, Colleagues or Others) and you can rename the tag labels, filter the list by tag, and re-tag several people at once.

  • Can I keep gift ideas for someone?

    Yes. Every person has a free-form ‘Gift ideas’ note on their details page, so the idea you had in March is still there in November.

  • Will the reminders really arrive?

    Yes, and with no internet and no account, because they are scheduled on the phone itself. Android is the part that gets in the way. From Android 13 onwards the system delivers most apps’ alarms approximately rather than to the minute, and some manufacturers add stricter battery rules on top of that, so a reminder can land later in the day than you set it. BDays walks you through the settings that fix this the first time you open it, and keeps the guide under Menu, Troubleshoot.

  • What languages does BDays speak?

    Nineteen: English, Chinese (Simplified), Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

  • Is BDays on iPhone?

    BDays is available for Android today. The iOS version is on its way, and the App Store button up top lights up the day it ships.
