Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. They are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory.

The BDays app

The app does not use cookies explicitly. Your birthdays, photos, tags and notes are kept in a local database on your phone, not in a cookie and not on a server of mine. However, the app uses third-party code and libraries that may use cookies, local storage or a device advertising identifier to collect information and improve their services.

This website

These pages set no cookies of their own, and nothing here signs you in or remembers you between visits.

I do count visits, using Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare states that it uses no cookies and does not fingerprint your browser or device: it records the page, the referrer and rough timing, and nothing that identifies you. I use it to see which pages people find useful. There is no advertising and no cross-site tracking anywhere on this site.

The only other thing your browser keeps is its normal cache of the fonts and images it downloaded to draw these pages.

Where a service processes your device’s advertising identifier to show or measure ads, that use is described in the Google advertising policy.

Your choices

  • You have the option to either accept or refuse cookies, and to know when a cookie is being sent to your device, in your browser settings. If you choose to refuse cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of a service.
  • You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings, under Google settings on Android.
  • The one-off Premium purchase removes ads from the app entirely.

I may update this cookie policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new cookie policy on this page.
